Grosse Pointe Academy
hosts Montessori night

Families interested in the benefits of a Montessori education will be able to learn more and personally experience the Montessori educational approach during Montessori Night at The Grosse Pointe Academy on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. This event is being held in conjunction with Montessori Awareness Week Feb. 22-26, a nationwide celebration of the Montessori method's child-centered, individualized approach to education.

“The goal of this celebration is to make people aware that Montessori education is still growing and thriving,” said Jennifer Kendall, the Academy’s early and lower school principal. "In fact, a Montessori education is probably more relevant today than it was a hundred years ago. The Montessori educational approach may be one of the best-kept secrets in education.”

During Montessori Night, parents will observe demonstrations from Academy early school teachers highlighting the Montessori approach. The evening event will detail the areas of the classroom, learning experiences, and benefits of the Montessori program at The Grosse Pointe Academy.

The Grosse Pointe Academy is also hosting an All-School Open House Sunday, Feb. 28 from 1-3 p.m. Families are invited to tour the award-winning facility, meet faculty and students, and learn about the outstanding educational opportunities available for children ages 2½ to 5 (Montessori early school) and grades 1-8 (lower and middle schools).
