University Liggett students honored
in Lions Club peace poster contest
Three University Liggett School Middle School students were honored by the Grosse Pointe Lions for their entries in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest.
First place went to Izzy Sakelaris, who received a certificate and $75. Her poster will be sent to the district level for review and possible inclusion in the international competition.
Noelle Perry and Nicole Rosenberg each received certificates and $50 and $25, respectively.
“We are so pleased with the artistic renderings and happy to champion the skills of these fine Liggett students,” said club President Bill Hollister. “A very impressive showing.”
The Lions Clubs International is sponsoring the poster program to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere.
