Spring Benefit will fund scholarships,
thanks to GP South Mother's Club

The Mothers’ Club of Grosse Pointe South High School joins with South students to celebrate Springtime in Paris at the Spring Benefit Luncheon and Fashion Show, Tuesday, April 27, from noon-3:00 p.m., in the South gymnasium.

The show supports classroom enrichment, college scholarship and historic preservation projects. Last year, the Mothers’ Club awarded scholarships to 53 graduating seniors in the amount of $64,000 as a result of their fundraising efforts.

Co-Chairs Kelee Teodecki and Melissa Wenzler and their committees have put together an afternoon of food, fashion and fun. Students will model clothing from South’s Fashion and Fabrics class along with items from area stores.

Hair designs are courtesy of Salon Danielé and special celebrity guest hair styling artist, Bravo’s Shear Genius, Ben Mollin; entertainment will be provided by the Grosse Pointe South student choir and band.

Tickets for the benefit are $35 and can be purchased by calling Vicki Clevenger at  (313) 824-8246. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and can be purchased by calling Megan Hughes at (313) 882-3331. Raffle items have been donated by George Koueiter & Sons Jewelers, edmund t. AHEE Jewelers and Burger Pointe, among others.

Gold sponsors for the Spring Benefit are Todd Baker from Deloitte and Comerica Bank. The silver level sponsor is Kapnick Insurance. Other sponsors include Kloka Design, Mark Brooks from State Insurance and Salon Daniele.
