Three seniors net Comcast scholarships

Three high school seniors from the Grosse Pointes have won $1,000 scholarships from the Comcast Foundation's "Leaders and Achievers" program. The scholarships go to college-bound seniors who have demonstrated leadership skills, academic achievement and a commitment to community service. 

The three were among 122 winners invited to a ceremony June 3 in Lansing.

The local seniors, their schools and college plans are:

Taylor Schweitzer, Grosse Pointe South High School, planning to attend the University of Michigan. Schweitzer resides in the Farms.

Jessica Foster, University Liggett School, planning to attend Grand Valley State University. Foster resides in the Park.

Paul Schreiber, Grosse Pointe North, planning to attend the University of Michigan. Schreiber resides in the Woods.
