Watching the hours go by,
under the Woods' new timepiece

The unveiling of the new clock in front of Grosse Pointe Woods' municipal building Sunday (July 18) was accompanied by music, food, speeches and celebration. The clock and surrounding garden was a project of the Grosse Pointe Woods Foundation and is dedicated to the memory of local resident Edmund T. Ahee Sr. Speakers promoted the ongoing sale of $100 brick pavers on the plaza – forms for the tax-deductible purchase are available at the site – and welcomed the new landmark to the community. The foundation board includes residents Peter Ahee, Mark Fossee, Kevin Hendrick, George Koueiter, Lillian Metry, Rob Nederhood, Beline Obeid, Liz Rader, Dr. Edward Vermet and Mark Zmyslowski.
