12 residents join effort to solve
Grosse Pointe Shores' budget

At its June meeting, the Grosse Pointe Shores City Council sought to head off public objections to the ongoing pain of budget-making by inviting residents to join in the effort. At the July meeting, 12 interested residents formally became part of the process. 

The 12, who form the Blue Ribbon Committee, are Daniel Aitken, James Anderson, Robert Barrette, Bruce Bisballe, John Booth, Peter Dolan, Brian Garves, Robert Gesell, Quresh Khairullah, Daher Rahi, David VanEgmond and Ralph Wenskus. 

In other business, Public Safety Director Steve Poloni presented commendations to several officers for meritorious work in recent months, including thwarting a suicide.
