Sidewalk Sale and Street Festival
starts Friday in Grosse Pointe Village

The Grosse Pointe Village Association presents the annual Village Sidewalk Sale and Street Festival Friday and Saturday (July 30-31). The festival takes place on Kercheval Avenue between Cadieux and Neff in downtown Grosse Pointe’s Village shopping district. Village merchants will offer markdowns and other special sales inside and outside, while outside visitors can enjoy food, music and other fun.

This year, for the first time in its 32-year history, the Village will welcome area auto dealers and other select outside vendors. Festival hours are from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Along with all the great bargain hunting, special attractions will include:

Friday, July 30:

• The award-winning Balduck Mountain Ramblers perform from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Kercheval near Cadieux.
• Services for Older Citizens presents Dancing in the Streets with Take Two, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Kercheval in front of the Borders store near Neff Road.
• Kid’s Activities, including face painting, balloons, prize drawings, Lego tables and much more, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Kercheval at St. Clair.
• Visit the Grosse Pointe Historical Society’s exhibit on St. Clair near Kercheval.
• Meet with representatives from the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Great food and refreshments from City Kitchen and Village Grille, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday, July 31:

• Food and refreshments from Village Grille, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Grosse Pointe Historical Society exhibit continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• More kid’s activities.
• Final markdowns on select items from Village merchants.

The annual Village Sidewalk Sale and Street Festival is produced by the Grosse Pointe Village Association, representing the shops and businesses along Kercheval Avenue in downtown Grosse Pointe.
