Junior League selects designers
for Show House to open May 1
A few new designers along with many Show House veterans have begun work transforming the French Normandy house at 78
Lake Shore for the Junior League of Detroit's biennial fundraiser. Built in 1928, the 6,500-square-foot home includes five bedrooms, five full and three half baths and two outdoor terraces. Nearly every room in the house will be redone, from the living and dining rooms to hallways and closets.
New to the 2010 Show House are:
- Leanna Haun, Mural & Mosaics – kitchen hall
- Irene Kossak & Gail Anderson, IG Interiors (Dearborn) – back foyer
- Jeanine White-Haith & Loretta Crenshaw, Showhouse Interiors – main hall guest bedroom
New as designers (participated in 2008 as students) are:
- Laura Stanley, Vicky Johnson and Jennifer Huffman; Laura Stanley & Associates – nursery
New as a contractor is:
- Tanya Woods, Xstyles Bath Designs (Birmingham) – guest retreat bathroom

- Lynnette Zaner and design students, Baker College of Design and Technology (Clinton Township) – upper hall bath
Harry Limauro of Inspired Smart Technologies (Pontiac) and Archie K. Lytle of Barton Malow Co. (Southfield) are wiring the house for audio and video.
The Show House will be open from Saturday, May 1, through Sunday, May 16, weekdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. All visitors with cars must park in the lot at Neff Park on Jefferson in the City and take a shuttle to the house. No tickets will be sold or accepted at the door. Advance tickets are $15. Day of event tickets will be available at the shuttle location for $20.
