Far from the sea, Henry Ford Cottage
plans a clambake birthday party

Henry Ford Cottage Hospital's 90th-year celebration promises fun in the sun and sand.

Wiggle your toes in the sand and pop up a clam or two at the Clambake at the Cottage, a fundraising event celebrating nine decades of health care service to the Grosse Pointes and surrounding east-side communities.

The Clambake at the Cottage is set for September 12, beginning at 6:30 p.m., on the hospital grounds in the Farms. The casual outdoor event will include entertainment by Vintage Moments, a clambake-style supper, and a live auction.

Participants will be able to "dig for clams" and come up with fabulous prizes, or take a swing at the putting competition while helping to raise money for behavioral health programs and other services provided at Henry Ford Cottage Hospital.

Tickets start with a special “Next Generation” level of 99 clams ($99) for those 21 to 35 years old. General tickets are $175 per person and go up with added benefits and recognition, including admission to an exclusive “pre-glow” event.

A variety of tax-deductible sponsorship opportunities also are available. For an invitation and complete ticket and sponsorship information, contact Crystal T. Smith at 313-876-9871.

The Behavioral Health Department at Henry Ford Cottage Hospital provides care and services to individuals and families dealing with acute mental health issues. The department’s professionals provide assistance, resources and treatment needed to help patients and their families better understand how to ease and resolve mental disorders.
