Welcome to The Grosse Pointe List, your online resource for service providers, recommended by your friends and neighbors. Unlike other local resources, our list is not advertising. Service providers don’t pay to be on the list and cannot recommend themselves. Here, residents tell others about the lawn services, painters, handymen, caterers, florists and other service people they have used and know are good. If we receive complaints, we will remove any business we conclude is not dealing fairly with our readers.

We’re just getting started, and we need your help. If you know of a good service provider — the guy who did the tile work in the bathroom or the bakery that put the icing on the cake at your daughter’s wedding — please take a moment and add them to the list. It’s easy! All you have to do is register to the site if you haven’t already (it’s free). And then click on “Make a recommendation” on the left side of this page. That will bring up a form for you to complete. You can even make comments.
