Families interested in the benefits of a Montessori education will be able to learn more and personally experience the Montessori educational approach during Montessori Night at The Grosse Pointe Academy on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. This event is being held in conjunction with Montessori Awareness Week Feb. 22-26, a nationwide celebration of the Montessori method's child-centered, individualized approach to education. read more...

Geography stars: Isabella Gierlinger, first-place winner, and Alexander Minanov, runner-up.

Academy sixth-grader wins geography bee

Isabella Gierlinger, a sixth grade student at The Grosse Pointe Academy, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship. Sixth grader Alexander Minanov was the runner-up. The school-level bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 22nd annual National Geographic Bee.
