Grosse Pointe North H.S. at a glance

Grosse Pointe North High School opened in 1968 to serve the municipalities north of Moross Road. It is located off of Vernier in Grosse Pointe Woods and today has more than 1,500 students and 160 faculty members.

Famed North alumni include David Legwand and Carly Piper. Legwand plays for the Nashville Predators in the National Hockey League. Piper is a swimmer who won a gold medal in 2004 Athens Olympic Games. read more...

Congratulations to the members of the Grosse Pointe North Jazz Band for their outstanding performance this past weekend at the Music in the Parks Festival held at Cedar Point. Comment: GPNHS' North Pointe
earns national Gold Crown award

With good news, you don’t usually ask for a second opinion, but the North Pointe staff received one last week when they were awarded the Gold Crown from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association at Columbia University in New York.

This follows a Pacemaker Award last fall from the National Scholastic Press Association. Just two high school newspapers earned both honors this year, which are the highest awards given nationally. El Estoque of Monta Vista High School, Cupertino, Calif., is the other. read more...

at MSU conference
