Maire Elementary School at a glance

Lewis Maire Elementary School is one of the most architecturally distinctive schools in the district. Built in 1936, as the Grosse Pointe area was starting to grow, it was designed by Detroit architects in the English Gothic Revival style. Copper moldings and gutters and multi-paned windows are among the classic design details of architect Wirt C. Rowland.
