THE EVENT
The 2nd Bi-Annual “Windows of Opportunity”, a juried exhibition and retail sale, will be held at the MORC Inc. Clinton Township office in early September 2011. The jury will accept 100 artists. Artists will create works of art out of vintage windows, set a selling price and receive a 60% profit. Funds raised are used to provide art and craft programs for persons with developmental disabilities.
THE CAUSE
The Macomb-Oakland Regional Center Inc. (MORC) helps individuals with disabilities and mental illness realize their dreams as full members of their communities. We do this through comprehensive services and supports, training and education, and advocacy.
APPLICATION DEADLINE AND FEES
*The refundable application fee is $20 and must be received by MORC by July 1, 2011. Please send a check payable to MORC INC. THERAPEUTIC RECREATION, 16200 19 MILE ROAD, CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI 48038. * IF YOU CAN PROVIDE YOUR OWN WINDOW, THE $20 FEE WILL BE WAIVED. A photograph of previous work must be included with the application; this photograph may not be returned. You will be notified of your acceptance by July 8, 2011 and will be given a date which you may come to MORC Inc. to select a window. Please contact Kristie at 586-416-2063 with any questions.
GUIDELINES & RULES
All windows must be clean, stripped, painted and/or stained. Art must be ready (wired) for presentation. A 3X5 card must be attached to back of your art with the following information: Title, Artist Name, Phone Number, Email and Price. Artists will be contacted via email with the results of their sale on Monday, September 12, 2011. All unsold windows must be picked up by artist by September 16, 2011. Unclaimed art will become property of MORC.
